Department of Career Guidance

Department of Career Guidance was started in 1998. The motto of the project is ‘NO STUDENT LEFT UNGUIDED’. CIGI focuses on the need of career planning and scientific career guidance. We believe that through the administration of scientific methods and tools, children can be guided into their right career path.

Career guidance is done absolutely free of cost to anyone who walks into our office at Golf Link Road, Chevayur, Calicut -17, while our wide network of career guides continue to inspire students across the state and beyond. Over the years, our career guides and system has been acclaimed to be the most reliable and trustworthy source of career information.

CIGI conducts study camps, workshops, exhibitions, lecture series and seminars/webinars throughout the year to reach out to masses. Our mission is ‘to establish education with a purpose, employment with passion and choice, excellence in all aspects of life and to provide empowerment with character’.

We aim to augment the process of creation of Knowledge Societies in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Centre for Competency Development

Established as a part of CIGI’s 20th anniversary celebrations, Centre for Competency Development was the end result of deliberations and constant dialogues among CIGI intelligentsia on the lack of competency in students and job seekers.

In 2016, the first initiative of its kind Mission 100 C4C or building 100 Centres for Competency Development across Kerala was taken up. A Centre for Competency instituted under C4C is an independent centre accredited to and monitored by CIGI and envisioned to enhance the competency of students, nurture their talent, develop their skills, and direct them in their pursuit of better life and career.

The project was built on a belief that the accomplishment of this mission would provide a solution for this affecting condition and lead to a massive transformation in the current occupational and educational state of the community. CIGI successfully completed this mission of establishing 100 centres in 2019 and they continue their mission developing competency among the needy.

As the pandemic swept through the globe, we decided to create a novel model for competency development through ‘C-Circle’s (Competency Circles’. The C-Cirlce’s are WhatsApp based online groups through which aspirants are equipped to face competitive examination. This is done through regular updates of study materials and daily, week and monthly tests.

Started in 2020, our mission, of creating ‘1000 C-Circles’, was accomplished in a short span of time with people from across the state joining this initiative.

Centre for Excellence in Education (CEE)

India has one of the largest networks of educational institutions in the world. Taking numbers, we happen to produce the largest number of engineers and graduates as well. While this being a fact, it is necessary that we should look into the quality of education and whether it matches the aspiration and dreams of the youth. Educational institutions play a significant part in igniting the ambitions of students, and therefore providing quality in all aspects of education helps in the overall evolution of youth as better individuals. Educational institutions must turn into places of learning, unlearning, research and new knowledge. CIGI aims to transform institutions into powerhouses of knowledge creation.

The Department aims at overall development of institutions covered, in both academic and non-academic domains. The actions to be implemented in each college will be determined based on the report of assessment made in each domain.

Centre for Learning

CIGI believes that access to education must be universal. No person should be devoid of tasting the sweetness of knowledge because of their backgrounds. Individuals from all walks of life must be able to lead a life of happiness and contentment.

Centre for Learning focuses on the Psychological and Learning related issues that individuals face. People belonging to the marginalised segments, including differently abled, people from socially and educationally deprived regions, coastal and tribal belts, people with learning and psychological issues are all the focal areas of this project.
