The KVASU came into existence on 14th June, 2010, as per Ordinance number 44/2010 and later Act 3/2011 of the Government of Kerala. The University hence is the product of continuous and genuine pursuit and sustained dream of many people, who initiated the efforts since the mid-nineties. The establishment is also the result of the recognition of the need to advance animal production sector activities and to widen the arena of academic opportunities, applied research and entrepreneurship in the field of animal health, production and allied subjects. The University is a public funded University with headquarters at Pookode, Wayanad, and the powers of the University are vested in its authorities –the Management Council and the Board of Management. The university has called up for admission 2023-2024 in M.S. in Wildlife Studies, M.Sc. in Biostatistics, M.Sc. in Quality Control in Dairy Industry, M.Sc. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, M.Sc. in Applied Microbiology, M.Sc. in Animal Biotechnology, M.Sc. in Animal Sciences, MSc. in Applied Toxicology.

Eligibility: M.S. in Wildlife Studies- Bachelor’s Degree in Biosciences (Botany, Zoology, Veterinary Science, Forestry, Poultry Production and Business Management etc.), M.Sc. in Biostatistics- Bachelor's degree in Statistics or Applied Statistics or Data science or Mathematics & Statistics (Double/Triple Main/core) or Mathematics (Main/core) with Statistics as one of the subsidiaries. M.Sc. in Quality Control in Dairy Industry Bachelor’s degree in Dairy Science/ Food Technology/ Food Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Food science/ Nutrition & Dietetics/ Chemistry/ Microbiology. M.Sc. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Bachelor degree in Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Microbiology/ Chemistry/ Dairy Science/ Zoology. M.Sc. in Applied Microbiology Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology/ Zoology/ Botany/ Biotechnology/ Veterinary Science/ Agriculture. M.Sc. in Animal Biotechnology B.Sc./B.Tech in Biotechnology/B.Tech in Dairy Technology/ Degree in Life Science subjects. Selection: In case of MS and MSc programmes, the University will publish a rank list based on the marks in the Entrance examination conducted by university, OGPA secured in qualifying examination, experience, publications and extracurricular activities certificate produced by the student on the day of entrance examination.

An application fee of Rs.1000/- for General and Others and those candidates belonging to SC/ ST categories of Kerala origin should remit Rs. 500/- as the application fee (excluding bank processing charges). After remitting application fee, candidate should take the print out of the fee receipt

Post Graduate Diploma in Coffee Quality Management

Eligibility: For B.Sc. (Poultry Production and Business Management) 50 % marks in Plus two or VHSE of any stream.

Selection: The University will publish a rank list based on the marks secured by the candidates in the Entrance Examination conducted by the University at College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy, Thrissur and College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Pookode, Wayanad. The selection for the BSc will be done from the corresponding rank list according to the rank, options and the reservation policies persist, through offline allotment process. The students have to attend the counselling process on the date notified by the University in the rank list.

The university has called up for admission 2023-2024 in P.G. Diploma in Climate services in Animal Agriculture, P.G. Diploma in Climate services, P.G. Diploma in Veterinary Cardiology, P.G. Diploma in Veterinary Anaesthesiology. All PG Diploma programmes are of One-year duration (two semesters).

Eligibility: For P.G. Diploma in Climate Services in Animal Agriculture- M.V.Sc/ Ph.D./ B.V.Sc. & A.H. in the case of departmental/ Sponsored candidates. P.G. Diploma in Climate Services- B. Tech/ M.
