NCCS, Pune, invites applications from eligible candidates for admission to a Ph.D. programme for August - 2023 session. The candidates should be bonafide Indian citizens, having a consistently good academic record with strong motivation to pursue research in modern biology leading to a Ph.D. degree.

Eligibility: Candidates should have Masters (postgraduate) degree in any branch of Science with an interest in pursuing research in various areas of Modern Biology like Cell & Molecular biology, Structural Biology, Bioinformatics, Neuroscience, Immunology, Infectious Biology, Cancer Biology, Microbial Ecology etc., having at least 55% or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA) (A relaxation of 5% of marks, shall be allowed for SC/ST/OBC and Persons With Disabilities) and with a valid fellowship from CSIR/UGC/ DBT(Category I)/ICMR/ BINC/ DST-Inspire. Candidates with a postgraduate degree, who do not have individual fellowship but have qualified JGEEBILS exam conducted by NCBS/TIFR in December, 2022 will be eligible to apply. Candidates will be shortlisted based on JGEEBILS results by NCCS criteria for interview. NCCS’s decision in this regard will be final.

Candidates who are expected to complete their Post Graduate Degree by the end of July-2023 are also eligible to apply. Their selection will be provisional and subject to fulfilling eligibility criteria by the end of November, 2023. Candidates who have qualified only for a Lectureship in CSIR-UGC (NET), DBT (Category II) and the “Project list of ICMR” are not eligible.

Selection: The entrance examination is a qualifier for the interview. The Admission Score is based on the performance in the interview and the candidate’s earlier academic performance.

The KVASU came into existence on 14th June, 2010, as per Ordinance number 44/2010 and later Act 3/2011 of the Government of Kerala. The establishment is also the result of the recognition of the need to advance animal production sector activities and to widen the arena of academic opportunities, applied research and entrepreneurship in the field of animal health, production and allied subjects. The University is a public funded University with headquarters at Pookode, Wayanad, and the powers of the University are vested in its authorities –the Management Council and the Board of Management. The university has called up for admission 2023-2024 in B.Sc. (Poultry Production and Business Management).

Eligibility: For B.Sc. (Poultry Production and Business Management) 50 % marks in Plus two or VHSE of any stream.

Selection: The University will publish a rank list based on the marks secured by the candidates in the Entrance Examination conducted by the University at College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy, Thrissur and College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Pookode, Wayanad. The selection for the BSc will be done from the corresponding rank list according to the rank, options and the reservation policies persist, through offline allotment process. The students have to attend the counselling process on the date notified by the University in the rank list.
