Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB) Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, Thycaud Post, Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram - 695 014, has invited application for admission to the PhD program April 2022 session in various domains of disease biology and plant science.

Eligibility: Applicant should hold a Post-graduate degree in Life/ Agricultural/ Environmental/ Veterinary/ Pharmaceutical/ Medical Sciences or allied subjects (Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics/ Biophysics/ Chemistry/ Microbiology, etc.) with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade B in the UGC 10-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale where ever grade system is followed) or an equivalent from a foreign educational institution. SC/ST/Differently abled candidates need only 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade point in the qualifying examination.

Applicants must have a valid JRF Fellowship (UGC/CSIR/ICMR/DBT/DST-INSPIRE/or any other nationally-competitive fellowship offered by the Government having a valid fellowship for a period of 5 years.

Upper age limit is 26 years as on December, 2022. Age limit will be relaxed for SC/ST/Physically challenged candidates as per Government of India regulations.

RGCB is currently affiliated to the University of Kerala, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Regional Centre for Biotechnology and Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS). Registration of the selected candidates will be as per the guidelines issued by these Universities for the award of PhD degrees.

Selection: Applicants will be shortlisted based on the academic performance and performance in the national level tests. PhD interviews may be held online.

Application: Application is to be submitted online latest by 11 May, 2022 . Application Fee of Rs.500/- must be paid online using ‘SB Collect’ of State Bank of India through the URL given in the Payment Stage of online application. SC/ST/EWS candidates are exempted from paying the processing fees.

Fees for PhD Programme: Students admitted for PhD programme will have to pay a laboratory fee of Rs 5000/- per semester for the first ten semesters and Rs. 10,000/- for every semester after. SC/ST/EWS candidates are exempt from these tuition fees. University fees will have to be paid directly to the University directly by the student.

List of shortlisted candidates will be published in the third week of May, 2022. Online interview will be in the Fourth week of May 2022. Those selected have to join RGCB PhD program in the second week of June 2022. RGCB PhD Course Work will Commence in the third week of June 2022.

B.Sc. Poultry Production and Business Management at Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University

The KVASU came into existence on 14th June, 2010, as per Ordinance number 44/2010 and later Act 3/2011 of the Government of Kerala. The University hence is the product of continuous and genuine pursuit and sustained dream of many people, who initiated the efforts since the mid-nineties. The establishment is also the result of the recognition of the need to advance animal production sector activities and to widen the arena of academic opportunities, applied research and entrepreneurship in the field of animal health, production and allied subjects. The University is a public funded University with headquarters at Pookode, Wayanad, and the powers of the University are vested in its authorities –the Management Council and the Board of Management. The university has called up for admission 2023-2024 in B.Sc. (Poultry Production and Business Management).

Eligibility: For B.Sc. (Poultry Production and Business Management) 50 % marks in Plus two or VHSE of any stream.

Selection: The University will publish a rank list based on the marks secured by the candidates in the Entrance Examination conducted by the University at College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy, Thrissur and College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Pookode, Wayanad. The selection for the BSc will be done from the corresponding rank list according to the rank, options and the reservation policies persist, through offline allotment process. The students have to attend the counselling process on the date notified by the University in the rank list.
