Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) is a well-known educational and research institution in India. Applications are now open for various programs that offer quality education and excellent campus placement opportunities.
Admission to most programs is based on the Common Entrance Test (CAT 2025) rank list. The courses will be conducted at the Thrikkakara Main Campus, Kuttanad Campus (Pulinkunnu), and Lakeside Campus. The university also offers PhD programs at its approved research centers.
Graduate Level/Integrated Programs
B.Tech (4 years):
CUSAT offers B.Tech programs in various branches, including:

Lateral Entry: Diploma holders can join B.Tech directly in the third semester through lateral entry (except for Marine Engineering and Naval Architecture).
Integrated MSc (5 years)
CUSAT offers 5-year Integrated MSc programs in:

Eligibility:
- For most programs, students must have studied Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry in Plus Two.
- For Biological Sciences, Biology is required along with Physics and Chemistry.
- For Environmental Science and Technology, students must have studied Mathematics or Biology along with Physics and Chemistry.
Degree Options:
- After 3 years (6 semesters) – Students can earn a BSc degree.
- After 4 years (8 semesters) – Students can earn a BSc (Hons) or BSc (Hons with Research) degree.
Integrated MCA (5 years)
Students who have studied Mathematics, Computer Science, Informatics Practice, or Information Technology in Plus Two are eligible to apply.
Exit Options:
- After 3 years, students can earn a BCA degree.
- After 4 years, students can earn a BCA (Hons) or BCA (Hons with Research) degree.
Law Programs
CUSAT offers five-year integrated law programs:
- BBA LLB (Hons)
- B.Com LLB (Hons)
- BSc LLB (Hons) Computer Science
Eligibility:
- For BBA LLB (Hons) and B.Com LLB (Hons) – Students from any stream in Plus Two can apply.
- For BSc LLB (Hons) Computer Science – Students must have studied Mathematics or Computer Science in Plus Two.
Vocational Program (3 years)
B.Voc (Bachelor of Vocation)

Admission Process
Most programs require a Common Admission Test (CAT), a computer-based exam conducted by CUSAT. Applicants must select the correct test codes when applying based on their chosen programs.
Other Admission Routes:
- Departmental Admission Test (DAT): Required for PhD, Postdoctoral programs, M.Tech (for non-GATE candidates), and some diploma/certificate programs.
- Lateral Entry Test (LET): Required for B.Tech Lateral Entry admissions.
- GATE Score: Considered for M.Tech admissions.
-MBA Admissions: Based on IIM CAT (Nov 2024), SEMAT (after Nov 2024), or K-MAT (after Nov 2024) scores.
- M.Tech (Marine Biotechnology): Admission based on GAT-B exam conducted by the Department of Biotechnology.
- B.Tech (Marine Engineering): Admission based on IMU CET 2025, conducted by the Indian Maritime University.
CUSAT Test Registration:
All applicants must register for the CUSAT test to be considered for admission.
CUET PG Admissions:
From this year, CUET PG offers 10% supernumerary seats in all postgraduate programs. Admission will be based on CUET PG rank, but candidates must also register for CAT. Students can apply through either CUET PG or CAT.

The entrance exam will be held on May 10, 11, and 12.

For Integrated MSc in Biological Sciences:
Candidates must take Test Code 104, which includes:
- Biology: 90 questions
- Physics: 75 questions
- Chemistry: 60 questions

For Integrated MSc in Environmental Science & Technology:
Candidates can take either Test Code 101 or Test Code 104, depending on their subject background.
