CUET PG 2025: Your Questions Answered

The last date to apply for the Common University Admission Test (CUET PG)  has been extended till February 08.   

 Below are answers to the most important questions about CUET PG.

Why Are Central Universities Important?
Central Universities offer many advantages, such as large campuses, top-notch facilities, skilled professors, excellent libraries, affordable fees, great placement opportunities, exposure to new lifestyles, and the chance to make friends with students from all over India.

Is Admission to Central Universities Only Through CUET?
No, admissions are not limited to central universities. Many state, private, and deemed universities also accept CUET scores for admission. You can find a list of participating institutions on the official website at exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-PG. Be sure to check the site regularly, as more universities may join the list.

Is There an Age Limit to Apply for the Exam?
No, there is no age limit. Anyone who has completed their graduation or is appearing for their final year exam this year can apply. However, each institution may have its own rules regarding age, educational qualifications, and other conditions, so it's important to check their specific requirements. Some institutions may have updated their terms and conditions.

Is Admission to the Central University of Kerala via CUET?
Yes, the Central University of Kerala in Kasaragod offers admission to various programs through CUET. These include MA programs in Economics, English, Comparative Literature, Linguistics and Language Technology, Hindi, International Relations, Political Science, Malayalam, Kannada, and Public Administration. 
There are also MSc programs available in Zoology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Genomic Science, Geology, Mathematics, Botany, Physics, and Yoga Therapy. Additionally, the university offers LL.M. (Master of Law), MBA (General, Tourism, and Travel Management), Master of Public Health, Master of Social Work (MSW), and Master of Education (M.Ed.) programs.

Which Other Institutions in Kerala Admit Students Through CUET?
Kerala Digital University offers M.Sc. programs in various subjects, along with M.Tech, MSc, and MBA programs, all through CUET. The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) in Kottayam also accepts CUET scores for admission to its PG Diploma in Mass Communication and Journalism program.

How Many Papers Can Be Chosen for the Exam, and How to Select Them?
Students can choose up to four papers based on the course and institution they wish to apply to. It's important to decide on the programs and institutions for higher studies beforehand. You can access CUET details through the university links on the official website, where you'll find a list of participating universities. By clicking on each university's link, you'll see the available programs, eligibility requirements, and the specific paper codes for each program.

Can You Explain the Exam?
The CUET exam will be held between March 13 and 31, with two or three shifts each day. It is a computer-based test with 75 multiple-choice questions, and the duration is 90 minutes. Each correct answer gets 4 marks, and 1 mark is deducted for each wrong answer. The admit card will be available for download four days before the exam. There will be exam centers in all districts of Kerala, and the exam syllabus can be found on the official website.

Is the NTA Preparing the Rank List?
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is responsible for conducting the exam and preparing the scorecards for registered students. However, the rank list is created by the respective institutions based on the scores of the students applying to each institution. Therefore, students must ensure they submit their application to the institutions they are interested in on time.

Can a Student Who Completed Graduation in Kerala Take the Exam Abroad?
Yes, a student who has completed graduation in Kerala can take the exam abroad. You will need to provide your foreign address as your current or permanent address in the application. You must also choose four exam centers abroad in order of preference. There are 27 exam centers abroad.

Do You Have to Pay Extra Fees to Take the Exam Abroad?
Yes, there is an additional fee to take the exam abroad. To write up to two papers, the fee is Rs 7,000 for all categories. For each additional paper, the fee is Rs 3,500. In India, the fee is Rs 1,400 for two papers (Rs 1,200 for OBC/EWS, Rs 1,100 for SC/Transgender, Rs 1,000 for differently-abled candidates). For each additional paper in India, general category candidates must pay Rs 700, and others must pay Rs 600.

What Documents Do You Need to Provide with the Application?
You must upload a passport-sized photograph and your signature. If you are claiming a reservation benefit, you do not need to upload the non-creamy layer certificate or category certificates with the application. However, differently-abled candidates should upload a PWD certificate.
