Where can you get it?
- In the past, this certificate was issued by the village office. To get it, you had to provide various documents, a self-attested declaration, and a certificate from a neighbour.
- Now, under the new rules, an affidavit signed by you and attested by a gazetted officer (like a doctor, headmaster, or village officer) is enough. This has made the process much simpler.
How to get it?
1. Write down your full name, the different names or addresses appearing on your documents, and the reason you need this certificate on a plain sheet of paper.
2. Visit a gazetted officer, such as a doctor, headmaster, or village officer.
3. Have the affidavit prepared, read it carefully, and sign it in front of the officer. They will then seal and attest the document.
Once done, you will have the "One and Same" certificate, which confirms that all the information in your documents belongs to the same person.
