Chartered എന്ന term ന്റെ അർത്ഥം
ഒരു professional body ക്ക് Royal Charter (പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് UK പോലുള്ള രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ) ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ മാത്രമേ ആ course/institute നെ "Chartered" എന്ന് വിളിക്കാറുള്ളൂ.
India യിൽ:
-CA (Chartered Accountancy) – ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India) നൽകുന്നത്. ഇത് "Chartered" ആണ്-
-CMA (Cost and Management Accountant)– ICAI (Institute of Cost Accountants of India, മുൻപ് ICWAI) നൽകുന്നത്. ഇത് Chartered" അല്ല – "Cost Accountant" എന്നാണ് designation.
CS (Company Secretary) – ICSI നൽകുന്നത്. ഇതും Chartered" അല്ല – "Company Secretary" എന്ന് തന്നെയാണ്.
International ആയി:
-ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) – UK based, ഇത് Chartered ആണ്.
CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) – ഇത് UK ലെ management accounting field ലെ Chartered course ആണ് (ഇന്ത്യൻ CMA അല്ല, ഇത് വേറെ course).
ചുരുക്കത്തിൽ:

Indian CMA, CS ഇവയെ "Chartered course" എന്ന് technically വിളിക്കാൻ പാടില്ല – statutory professional bodies ആണെങ്കിലും "Chartered" title അവർക്ക് ഇല്ല.
