MCC Counseling - Addressing Your Questions

The admission process for medical, dental, and nursing degrees, organized by the Medical Council Committee (MCC) and based on NEET UG 2023 rank, has commenced on the website mcc.nic.in. Below, we provide answers to the key queries students may have about this process.

What is the maximum number of choices allowed during the counseling process? Is it possible to rearrange the given choices?
Students can make as many choices as they wish based on their interests. In each round, separate choices must be provided. The choices can be modified, rearranged, and updated multiple times before finalizing and locking them in.

Does every institution that admits students through MCC counseling charge the same fee for MBBS?
No, the fees for MBBS vary among different institutions. Specific information regarding fees and bond conditions for each institution can be found through the 'Participating Institute Details UG 2023' link on the MCC website.

Is it possible to cancel a seat obtained during the second round of MCC counseling? 
In the MCC allotment process, a free exit option is available only in the first round. If a seat is not accepted in the second round, the security amount will be forfeited. Additionally, to participate in the third round, a new registration and fee payment will be required.

Which institutions are part of the MCC counseling process for admission to BSc Nursing?
The following institutions offer admission to BSc Nursing through MCC counseling: Vardhaman Mahavir Medical College, Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Florence Nightingale College of Nursing, Lady Hardinge, Rajkumari Amrita Kaur Nursing College, Bhopal Nursing College, and Banaras Hindu Nursing College. These are among the seven institutions participating in the process.

Is the deposit amount refundable for students who have secured admission through the counseling process?
Students who successfully secure a seat in any of the rounds and complete the admission process will have the deposit amount adjusted in their fee payment. For those who do not get admission in any round, the deposit amount will be refunded to the provided account. Hence, students should exercise caution while making payments, ensuring they are made from their own account or their parent's account.

Is it permissible to register again for the strike vacancy round and make a choice?
 Participants who were allotted a seat in the third round, those who haven't registered in the first three rounds, and those who secured admission through state allotment won't be eligible to participate in the strike round.

Will the ESIC IP reserved seat in Government Medical College, Kollam (Parippally) be obtained through MCC counselling?
Regarding the ESIC IP reserved seat in Government Medical College, Kollam (Parippally), yes, MCC counseling facilitates admission to this seat along with 10 other ESIC Medical Colleges and ESIC Dental College. In total, there are 437 MBBS seats and 28 dental seats available under this category. Candidates who possess the Ward of Insured Person Certificate from ESIC are eligible to participate in the counseling process and exercise their choices.

Is prior registration during the NEET application process necessary to secure admission in Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC)?
No, it is not mandatory to register for admission in Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) at the time of NEET application. During MCC registration, a list of candidates expressing interest in AFMC will be forwarded to the Director of Health Service, AFMC. From this list, approximately 1880 students (1490 males and 390 females) will be shortlisted based on their NEET UG scores. These shortlisted candidates will then undergo a special screening test in Pune, and ultimately, only 115 boys and 30 girls will be selected for admission.

Is it possible to secure an M.Sc. seat in private medical colleges located outside Kerala through MCC counseling?
No, private self-financing medical colleges located outside Kerala do not participate in MCC counseling. Instead, admissions to these colleges are handled by the Entrance Examination Authority of the respective State/Union Territory where the institution is situated.
